Paintings: SEascapes I

see the sea every day from the top corner of our little field in Lee, and most days I walk these cliffs.

I am fascinated by the myriad processes at work: the laying down of ancient sediment, the crushing and folding of the rock strata, and the slow, continuous erosion of the cliffs by the sea; and, superimposed on all these ancient processes, the colonisation of the cliffs by all sorts of living organisms,  and the meaning of this torn edge 'twixt Land and Sea for us as human beings.
